UN-Habitat Assembly President Praises Azerbaijan’s Successful Hosting of WUF13

Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan is successfully hosting an important global event such as WUF13, Malaysia's Minister of Housing and Local Government and current President of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Assembly, Nga Kor Ming, told journalists within the framework of the WUF13 - World Urban Forum held in Baku, APA reports. He congratulated Azerbaijan on this occasion.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Nga Kor Ming highlighted the significance of the event, describing it as a crucial platform that brings together local government leaders, urban planning experts, and policymakers. He noted that the main theme of the forum is 'Housing for All: Building Sustainable and Resilient Cities.' The forum emphasizes the importance of ensuring that urbanization, which is rapidly progressing worldwide, does not leave any person or place behind.

Nga Kor Ming further explained that affordable and accessible housing is at the forefront of WUF13's agenda. He stressed that a home is not merely a shelter but a place where people's hopes and dreams can be realized. He emphasized the need for quality housing to be affordable, accessible, well-connected to transport and services, and supported by a dignified community environment. According to him, it is only by ensuring these principles that cities can truly belong to everyone.
