Abu dhabi: Destructive floods, landslides, and fires are currently impacting many cities globally, stated Anaclaudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), during a press conference at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rossbach emphasized that cities worldwide are at the forefront of climate and natural crises. She highlighted that the urbanization rate is expected to rise from 50 percent to approximately 70 percent over the next 20 years, amid growing climate challenges, natural disasters, and conflicts.

Rossbach stressed the necessity for new approaches and innovations to create sustainable cities for the future.
