Baku: 'The 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is an opportunity to share challenges and solutions,' Volker Trk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said during his speech in a video message to the dialogue session titled 'Global housing crisis: What is the plan?' held within the framework of WUF13.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Volker Trk emphasized the significance of focusing on sustainable housing, noting that energy-efficient buildings benefit both the environment and personal finances. He highlighted the importance of quality housing in improving lives and communities, pointing to the European affordable housing plan as a strategy to increase supply and attract investments.

Trk outlined the dual approach of seeking immediate solutions while advocating for long-term reforms. He stressed the importance of prioritizing those most affected by the housing crisis, including students and homeless citizens, in crafting effective solutions. Trk concluded by calling for collective action to drive change.
