UN Must Be Fully Equipped For Today’s And Tomorrow’s Challenges, Says Former Slovak Minister

Baku: We are witnessing a crisis of multilateralism. There is a famous saying that a crisis is also an opportunity. Therefore, now is the best time for reforms, said former Foreign Minister of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajc¡k as he addressed the 'UN 80+' panel session held as part of the 13th Global Baku Forum. He noted that the key issue is that the UN must adapt to become fully equipped and more effectively respond to today's and tomorrow's complex global challenges, adding that one of the key points in this regard is to set the right agenda.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Miroslav Lajc¡k highlighted the importance of the issue of representation, emphasizing that the voice of the countries of the Global South should be heard above all others. He also stressed the significance of institutional reforms, stable financing, as well as ensuring better coordination and cooperation between different countries and organizations.
