Baku: The World Urban Forum (WUF) has been highlighted as a significant initiative and the largest gathering in history focused on urban development. This was stated by Dmitry Mariyasin, Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), during a session titled 'Strategic Environmental Assessment Tool for Achieving Climate Goals in Urban Planning' conducted as part of WUF13.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mariyasin expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for the successful organization of WUF13. He emphasized that ecological issues, although crucial, do not always receive the attention they deserve, despite their implications for the future.

He further noted the direct connection between ecology and aspects like competitiveness, decision-making, and making informed choices.
