Baku: 'The processes taking place between Azerbaijan and Armenia are a good example and a source of inspiration for all of us," said the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Rebeca Grynspan, in a statement to APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the UN official emphasized the increasing importance of the Middle Corridor in global trade and highlighted Azerbaijan's crucial role in its development. She noted that connectivity is a critical issue in today's world, particularly when disruptions like those occurring around the Strait of Hormuz affect trade routes. Azerbaijan's strategic geographical position linking Europe, Asia, the Caspian region, and the Caucasus makes it a key player in enhancing global trade connectivity.
Rebeca Grynspan commended Azerbaijan for its substantial investments in both maritime and land transport infrastructure, which are vital for strengthening connections with other countries. She also touched upon the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, stressing that peace is essential for the effective functioning of transport routes.
As highlighted in the President's speech at the Global Baku Forum, the peace period between Azerbaijan and Armenia has persisted for seven months, an achievement that stands out in the current complex international environment. Grynspan described this development as a source of inspiration for the world, emphasizing the global need for peace.
