Baku: A unified approach to clothing requirements for teachers and students will be introduced, APA reports. This development is part of an amendment to the Law on General Education that was discussed during the Milli Majlis session.

According to Azeri-Press News agency, the draft proposes that clothing requirements for teachers in state general education institutions will be set by a designated body authorized by the relevant executive authority. Furthermore, it outlines that parents or legal guardians are responsible for ensuring that students adhere to these clothing requirements.

Currently, school uniforms are mandated for students in state general education institutions. The proposed new Article 24.2.2-1 of the Law on General Education assigns the responsibility of compliance with these requirements to parents or legal representatives. The draft law mandates that both students and teachers in these institutions must follow the established clothing guidelines.

The draft law was subjected to a vote and successfully passed in the first reading.
