Athens:US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the decisions made over the next decade will crucially determine the West's position in the future world order during a significant policy speech addressed to Europe.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Rubio highlighted that the West is at a pivotal crossroads, and the choices made now will shape the history of the next century. He emphasized that the direction the West takes will be decisive in maintaining its leading role in the international community.

Rubio expressed concern that the West has increasingly distanced itself from its foundational characteristics, viewing prosperity as a source of guilt and losing confidence in its own achievements. He noted that terms like nationalism have taken on negative connotations, and there has been a trend of dismantling monuments and condemning historical legacies.

Furthermore, Rubio argued that Western nations have gradually ceded more of their sovereignty to global bureaucratic entities, and as the West's self-assurance has waned, its adversaries have grown bolder, enhancing their wealth and influence.
