Baku:Azerbaijan ranked third among 133 countries in the Financial Stewardship category of the 2026 Chandler Good Government Index report published by the Chandler Governance Group. This ranking places Azerbaijan just behind Singapore and Norway in this key assessment area.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Financial Stewardship category of the index evaluates countries based on four key indicators: government debt management, country budget surplus, spending efficiency, and country risk premium.

The report highlights Azerbaijan's notable achievements, ranking first in country budget surplus, 16th in spending efficiency, and 26th in government debt management. The Chandler Governance Group, an international non-profit organization based in Singapore, has been publishing this global index since 2021 to assess government capabilities, effectiveness, and public administration quality worldwide.
