Baku: As part of their visit to Azerbaijan, Sureyya Karimova, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Abu Reyhan Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and Associate Professor Salimkhon Eshonova, Head of the Department of Classical Literature at the institute, visited the historic city of Ganja.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the guests toured key cultural and historical sites including the Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum, the Nizami Ganjavi Museum, the Nizami Ganjavi Center of the Ganja Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the Alisher Navoi Center for Uzbek Language and Culture, and the "Imamzadeh" religious and architectural complex.

During their visit, Associate Professor Alimukhtar Mukhtarov, Ganja Branch's Deputy Chair for Research, provided insights into the ongoing efforts to study, preserve, and promote the life and international legacy of the renowned poet Nizami Ganjavi.

The Uzbek scientists expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to them and praised the flourishing scientific and cultural collaboration between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Discussions during the meeting covered a wide range of topics including the comparative study of the heritage of Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi, the development of joint scientific projects, the organization of international conferences, scholar exchange programs, and future cooperation opportunities.

Participants highlighted that this visit would play a pivotal role in further strengthening the scientific, literary, and cultural ties between the two nations.
