According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Gunay Afandiyeva emphasized the brotherly relations between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Their frequent mutual visits have laid a robust foundation for comprehensive cooperation. Afandiyeva underscored the significance of President Aliyev's state visit to Uzbekistan on 23 August 2026, which she deemed critical for the advancement of strategic relations. She highlighted the signing of the 'Treaty on Eternal Friendship between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan' by both heads of state, marking a modern-era testament to their historical ties and longstanding friendship.
