Vice-President Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva Lead Tree-Planting Campaign in Baku.


Baku: Another tree-planting campaign took place at ‘Ganjlik’ Park in the Khatai district of Baku, with the participation of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center. The event was organized as part of the Green World Solidarity Year.

According to Trend News Agency, the campaign was supported by the Regional Development Public Union of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, along with IDEA volunteers and students from the European Azerbaijan School. During the event, 600 Eldar pines were planted at the park.

“Ganjlik” park, spanning 43 hectares, was established through the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. It features green belts, along with recreational and entertainment areas for visitors to enjoy.

In addition to the tree-planting, 20 squirrels bred at the Baku Zoological Park were released into the park. This release was part of IDEA’s Urban Ecology project, which seeks to preserve and restore urban fauna species, enabling their natur
al reproduction within the park.
