HANOI: VietJet Air, a Vietnamese low-cost airline, is set to launch its first direct flights between Vietnam and Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, in the fall-winter season of 2024-2025. The new route marks a significant step in expanding international connectivity for Kazakhstan.
According to Trend News Agency, the Kazakh Ministry of Transport is actively working to enhance global ties through new international routes. VietJet Air will operate passenger flights between Phu Quoc and Astana twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using A-330 aircraft.
The introduction of this route is anticipated to facilitate trade, economic investment, tourism, and cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and Vietnam. VietJet, which started as Vietnam’s first private airline in 2007 and became VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company in 2011, currently operates 23 domestic and 10 international routes.
