Baku: Vladanka Andreeva, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, met with Rovshan Rzayev, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, marking the conclusion of her mission in the country. The meeting underscored the significant role of collaboration with the UN and its specialized agencies in addressing the challenges related to refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Committee Chairman Rovshan Rzayev highlighted that tackling refugee and IDPs' issues remains a crucial component of the national social agenda, with strong backing from President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva. During the meeting, Vladanka Andreeva received updates on the ongoing initiatives by the Committee to facilitate the sustainable settlement of former IDPs as part of the First State Program on the Great Return.

The contributions of Vladanka Andreeva as the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan were commended, especially her efforts in strengthening partnerships with UN agencies.
