Baku: The volume of natural gas supplied to Europe through the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) has reached 50 billion cubic meters, APA-Economics reports, citing SOCAR Trkiye, a subsidiary of SOCAR in Trkiye.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this significant achievement was described as a "historic milestone in the energy bridge from Azerbaijan to Europe." TANAP serves as a critical component of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), facilitating the transportation of Azerbaijani natural gas. The pipeline delivers a portion of this gas to Trkiye, while the remaining supply reaches Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) at the border of Trkiye and Greece.
The transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe through the TAP has been operational since December 31, 2020. This development marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing efforts to enhance energy connectivity between Azerbaijan and Europe, ensuring a steady supply of natural gas to the continent.
