Warehouse Fire in Baku Brought Under Control With Helicopter Assistance

Baku: A fire that broke out at a warehouse in the Lokbatan settlement of Baku's Garadagh district has been brought under control with the involvement of two helicopters, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The operation included 60 water drops, utilizing 150 tons of water to manage the blaze.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the firefighting efforts are ongoing. A total of 182 personnel, 40 units of special-purpose equipment, and two helicopters from various divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been mobilized. This includes the State Fire Protection Service, Special Risk Rescue Service, Aviation Detachment, and Baku Regional Center.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire was contained despite challenging weather conditions. Efforts to completely extinguish the blaze are still underway. The windy conditions posed a significant challenge to the firefighting operations, but the timely response prevented the fire from spreading further.

The incident was first reported to the Ministry's '112' hotline at 06:38 local time. Emergency response teams, including firefighting units and police officers, were dispatched immediately to ensure the safe evacuation of citizens and facilitate unobstructed operations for emergency and rescue teams.

Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, is on-site overseeing the operations. The warehouse, owned by 'Baku Logistics', was the site of the early morning fire. As of now, there have been no reported injuries or fatalities related to the incident.
