Western Azerbaijan Community Criticizes French Diplomacy Amid Tensions with Armenia

BAKU – The Western Azerbaijan Community has expressed strong criticisms towards the French Ambassador to Armenia, accusing him of biased conduct and a decline in French diplomatic standards.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the community released a statement highlighting the ambassador's continuous and unrelated criticisms of Azerbaijan, especially following the Armenian Prime Minister's speech at the UN General Assembly. The statement accused the ambassador of acting not as a neutral diplomat but as a representative of the Dashnak, an Armenian revanchist faction. This behavior, the community asserts, has not only discredited the ambassador but also tarnished the reputation of France itself, which has faced diplomatic expulsions from several countries in recent years.

The community further reminded the ambassador of Azerbaijan’s historical grievances, noting that Azerbaijan had endured thirty years of occupation, which was indirectly supported by France. They also invoked the memory of Ahmadiyya Jabrayilov, a celebrated figure in Azerbaijan, who fought for the liberation of France during Nazi occupation, to underscore the longstanding contributions of the Azerbaijani people to France during its time of need.
