Baku: A meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy with the participation of representatives of the Working Group on the application of the National Hydrogen Strategy of Azerbaijan and DNV Energy Systems Germany GmbH, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy told AZERTAC.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov highlighted Azerbaijan's potential for hydrogen production. He mentioned that within the framework of the first phase of the Development of the Azerbaijan National Hydrogen Strategy and its Implementation Plan project, a document titled National Strategic Vision on Hydrogen was prepared with technical support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and presented during the COP29 conference.

The results of a tender, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), revealed DNV Energy Systems Germany GmbH as the winner for the second stage of the project. The project implementation plan is expected to be ready in the first half of this year.

During the meeting, Ilka Lewington from DNV Energy Systems Germany GmbH delivered a presentation on the strategy's application. Discussions centered on legal and other aspects of hydrogen production in Azerbaijan. Priority areas for the next phase were identified, and specific targets and tasks were agreed upon for implementation by the Working Group.
