Riyadh: The Azerbaijani Embassy in Saudi Arabia held an event to mark December 31 - World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year holiday. The event was attended by employees of the Azerbaijani embassy and representatives of the Azerbaijani community living in Saudi Arabia.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ambassador Mutallim Mirzayev addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day. He highlighted its role in uniting Azerbaijanis globally, reinforcing their shared national identity, and fostering love for the Motherland. The ambassador also touched upon the history of Solidarity Day, noting its association with National Leader Heydar Aliyev, whose vision to unite Azerbaijanis worldwide is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. The celebrations are seen as a way to connect millions worldwide to their Azerbaijani identity and statehood.
The diplomat further noted that the Azerbaijani community in Saudi Arabia plays a crucial role in fostering relations between Azerbaijan and the host country. Additionally, Professor of Mathematics at King Saud University, Mubariz Garayev, praised the embassy's efforts to strengthen the unity of Azerbaijanis living in Saudi Arabia.
