Baku: The World Bank has allocated 2 million dollars for the preparation of Baku’s sustainable development project, APA-Economics reports, citing the World Bank.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, these funds have been allocated by the Bank to the Azerbaijani government for the preparation of the “Livable Baku” project aimed at improving the quality of the urban environment in Baku, enhancing resilience to natural disasters, and increasing the climate risk resilience of infrastructure. The grant was provided through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a structural division of the World Bank.

The grant is intended for the preparation of a technical and economic feasibility study, research on the reclamation of polluted natural lakes, cleaning of oil-contaminated areas, and the design of solid waste management facilities, including landfills and waste transfer stations.

The technical assistance period for the project is set to last until December 31, 2026. The Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan is designated as the project executor.
