CAIRO — Ahmet Levent Yener, the Program Leader for the Human Development Practice Group in the South Caucasus at the World Bank, highlighted the critical importance of assessing climate change risks to effectively combat environmental challenges.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Yener expressed optimism that the upcoming COP29 conference in Baku will serve as a vital international platform for addressing climate change and atmospheric pollution. He emphasized the urgency for United Nations member states to develop mechanisms for assessing climate risks promptly. “I believe that the prestigious COP29 climate conference to be held in Baku will be a convenient international platform for finding ways to tackle the risks of climate change and atmospheric pollution in general,” Yener stated. He also noted the significant role that human development plays in this context.
