Baku: There is a good foundation for the implementation of green technologies in Azerbaijan, Jens Nielsen, director of the World Climate Forum and participant of the II Baku Climate Action Week, said in an interview with APA. Nielsen highlighted the favorable environment that exists in Azerbaijan for the development of a green economy, with a particular emphasis on solar and wind energy as alternative energy sources that could significantly contribute to the sector’s growth.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the climate expert pointed out Azerbaijan’s rich experience in the agricultural sector, suggesting that this field could become a driving force in the local green economy. He said that the development of these sectors will eventually lead to the creation of numerous jobs within the country.
Nielsen further stated that climate change presents both challenges and opportunities in terms of employment. He noted that currently, over one million individuals are employed in the green economy in Brazil, illustrating the potential for job creation in Azerbaijan if similar green initiatives are pursued.
