According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Jordan began the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Austria. The team will play its final Group J match against Argentina. Thus, the number of teams that can no longer continue their campaign at the World Cup has risen to four.

At present, the teams eliminated from the tournament are Haiti, Trkiye, Tunisia, and Jordan. The matches of these teams in the third round of the group stage will be of a formal nature.
