Yekaterinburg: The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg has extended the detention of Shahid Lalayev, an Azerbaijani national, following a petition from the investigator. Lalayev, who was initially detained on June 26, will remain in the investigation detention center until July 19.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the court’s decision came after Lalayev’s original three-day pretrial detention, imposed on June 29, was reviewed. Lalayev’s detention coincided with operations against the Safarov brothers, and all parties involved appeared in court on the same day.
Lalayev has been charged with offenses under Article 105, Part 2, and Article 33, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The charges stem from a preliminary investigation that continues to unfold.
