Baku: New requirements are being defined for news agencies, APA reports. This development was discussed during a meeting of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis, where proposed amendments to the Law “on Media” were reviewed.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft amendment outlines that an information agency must establish agreements with at least 20 media entities for providing or obtaining information. Additionally, the agency must have journalists accredited in a minimum of five foreign countries. Furthermore, it is mandated that for at least 20 days each month, 80% of the total volume of daily mass information published by the agency must comply with the stipulations outlined in Article 60.5 of the Law.
