Istanbul: A visit to Trkiye was organized for young media representatives who participated in a series of awareness sessions held from June 17-19, 2026, as part of the Energy Dialogue Platform initiative. The event aimed to provide in-depth exposure to the energy sector in Trkiye, with a focus on the activities of SOCAR Trkiye.

According to Azeri-Press News agency, the first day of the visit included a tour of SOCAR's office in Istanbul, where the participants learned about the company's operations. Mikayil Yusifov, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Communications and Government Relations at SOCAR Trkiye, provided a comprehensive overview of SOCAR's projects, achievements, and strategic goals. He also addressed questions from the media representatives, offering insights into the company's role in Trkiye.

The program continued with a trip to Izmir on the second day, where an information session was held at SOCAR Trkiye's administrative building in Aliaga. Ahmet Glhan, Deputy Head of Finance of SOCAR Trkiye's Refining and Petrochemical Business Unit, presented details about the Petkim petrochemical complex and the STAR Refinery. He emphasized their production capacity and future projects aimed at further expansion.

Uygun Degirmenci, Chief Executive Officer of SOCAR Terminal, discussed the terminal's logistics operations and recent efforts to enhance efficiency and service quality. Meanwhile, Mehmet zenbas, Corporate Director for Sustainability and HSE at SOCAR Trkiye, highlighted the importance of environmental, social, and corporate governance practices, sharing information about SOCAR's initiatives in these areas.

The young journalists also participated in field tours to the Petkim petrochemical complex, the STAR Refinery, and the SOCAR Terminal. These visits provided them with firsthand experience of the operational activities and technological advancements at these facilities, rounding off a comprehensive introduction to the energy sector in Trkiye.
