Khankendi: Zangilan is being constructed using the “15-minute city model,” as revealed by Dunja Kovari-Binggeli, a founding partner of “SA Partners,” during the “III Azerbaijan National Urban Planning Forum” held in Khankendi.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the primary objective of urban planning in the liberated areas is to develop climate-resilient cities that balance nature with human habitation. Kovari-Binggeli stated that the master plan for Zangilan city focuses on creating a safe, livable, and sustainable environment, adhering to the principles of the ’15-minute city model.’

The planning of Zangilan incorporates the “green and blue network” concept, which includes the establishment of parks, natural air corridors, and green zones within the city. Kovari-Binggeli highlighted the introduction of new architectural prototypes in Azerbaijan, such as a circular school building and terraced apartments, which aim to ensure climate sustainability and foster social integration within communities.

Furthermore, she mentioned that a similar approach is being adopted in Kalbajar, where urban development projects are tailored to the mountainous landscape, integrating green spaces and buildings harmoniously.
