‘Zangilan’ Tanker Transports Over 566,000 Tons of Cargo in Two Years

Zangilan: The two-year anniversary of the commissioning of the tanker 'Zangilan'-built at the Baku Shipyard by order of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO)-has been marked.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the tanker was commissioned on July 2, 2024, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev.

During its two years in service, the tanker has completed 83 voyages along the Alaca - Kianli - Sangachal route, transporting a total of 566,831 tons of cargo. The next-generation tanker measures 141 meters in length and 16.9 meters in width, with a hull depth of 6 meters. It is capable of reaching a speed of 10 knots, carries a crew of 15, and features six cargo tanks with a total deadweight tonnage of 7,875 tons.

The tanker is designed for the transportation of both oil and chemical products. Its technical characteristics, particularly its draft, enable it to enter relatively shallow ports within the Caspian basin at full load, as well as to transport cargo beyond the Caspian Sea.
