110 kV Substations Undergoing Digital Transformation in Khankendi and Aghdara

Khankendi: AzerEnerji OJSC is actively reconstructing key substations in the region, focusing on the 110/35/10 kV Khankendi-2 substation in Khankendi city and the 110/35/10 kV Hasanriz substation in Aghdara district.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the existing facilities are being replaced with new constructions utilizing the latest digital technologies to enhance the regional power infrastructure.

The Khankendi-2 substation's development is poised to provide a more reliable and stable electricity supply to Khankendi city and its surrounding areas, including significant infrastructure facilities. In parallel, the Hasanriz substation in Aghdara district aims to bolster the reliability of electricity for local consumers and industrial enterprises. It will also facilitate the seamless transmission of electricity generated at the Sarsang Hydropower Plant and other regional hydropower facilities to the national power grid.

Both substations will incorporate a local micro-SCADA dispatch control system, enabling remote operation of switching equipment and real-time technological data transmission. These systems will be integrated into AzerEnerji's Central SCADA control platform, enhancing operational efficiency and oversight.

AzerEnerji has a track record of infrastructure improvements, having previously reconstructed the Khankendi-1 substation, which commenced operations as an indoor substation last December. With the completion of the current projects, AzerEnerji will have built 16 substations in the liberated territories. Additionally, 38 hydropower plants have been constructed and commissioned in the region, with eight more under construction.
