Baku: From 08:00 on February 28 to 14:00 on March 7, a total of 1,797 people have been evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, among those evacuated were 297 Azerbaijani citizens.
The operation also saw the evacuation of a diverse group of foreign nationals. The largest contingent was 521 citizens from China, followed by 282 from Russia, and 173 from Tajikistan. Additionally, 119 people from Pakistan, 57 from Oman, and 44 from Italy were evacuated. Other nationalities included 32 from Indonesia, 21 from Iran, and 20 from Spain.
A number of smaller groups were also part of the evacuation, such as 18 from Saudi Arabia, 16 from France, and 13 from Georgia. Citizens from Bulgaria and the Democratic Republic of Congo numbered 10 each, while there were 8 people evacuated from both Brazil and the United Kingdom.
The evacuations included 7 individuals from Belarus and Uzbekistan each, 6 from the UAE, Slovakia, and Canada each, and 5 from several countries including Serbia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. Smaller groups were also evacuated from countries like Bahrain, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Japan, Ukraine, Trkiye, Hungary, Belgium, Kuwait, and many others.
Single citizens from 15 different countries including Poland, Australia, Tunisia, South Africa, and the United States were also part of the evacuation effort, highlighting the international scope of the operation.
