Baku: The trial involving Armenian nationals accused of serious crimes continued at the Baku Military Court, with Levon Mnatsakanyan concluding his final statement. Mnatsakanyan denied the charges against him and retracted his previous statements made during the preliminary investigation. He urged the court to base its verdict on the statements he made during the hearing.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Mnatsakanyan expressed gratitude to the court for allowing him to deliver his final statement. He submitted a 51-page document of his speech, which took three days to deliver, to be included in the court records. Following Mnatsakanyan's statement, accused Arkadi Ghukasyan also delivered his final remarks.
The ongoing court proceedings involve Armenian nationals charged with offenses related to Armenia's military actions against Azerbaijan. The charges include war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, aggression, terrorism, violations of the laws and customs of war, financing terrorism, and the violent seizure and retention of power.
