Baku: The growth in demand in the energy system has already become a very serious issue, Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy, said during the opening ceremony of a modern renewable energy laboratory at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Abdullayev emphasized that the standard extrapolation methods are no longer sufficient for understanding the complexities of this demand growth. He pointed out that artificial intelligence and other evolving factors significantly influence energy demand, complicating traditional forecasting methods.
Despite these challenges, Abdullayev assured that Azerbaijan has adequate generation capacity to address the increasing energy needs. He stated, "Currently, Azerbaijan has sufficient energy generation capacity, and there is no need to take any extraordinary steps in the near future to meet the growing demand."
The remarks highlight the balance Azerbaijan seeks to strike between addressing immediate energy needs and planning for future demand influenced by technological and societal changes.
