Ahliman Amiraslanov Highlights Low Level of Primary Healthcare in Regions

Baku: The level of primary healthcare services in the regions is very low, Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis Ahliman Amiraslanov stated during a committee meeting while discussing proposed amendments to the Law on Psychiatric Care.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Amiraslanov pointed out that the issue is less prevalent in major cities. However, in regional and rural areas, the facilities meant to provide primary healthcare services are inadequate. He mentioned that this concern has been raised multiple times, noting a pilot project in Barda that initially showed promise but ultimately did not achieve the desired progress.

Amiraslanov discussed the matter with TABIB Executive Director Anar Bayramov, emphasizing the urgency of establishing modular medical stations in the regions. Bayramov agreed with the need for improvement, and TABIB plans to undertake significant work in this area. Amiraslanov stressed that improving primary healthcare services is crucial for delivering quality medical care to the population.

He highlighted the plight of villages distant from district centers, stating that patients sometimes die who could have been saved with timely medical intervention.
