Baku: In the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan saw a significant increase in air passenger traffic, with 865.3 thousand passengers transported, marking a 6.6% rise compared to the same period last year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the increase in passenger numbers was predominantly facilitated by state-owned transportation, which accounted for 99.9% of the traffic, while privately-owned transport vehicles contributed a mere 0.1%. Despite the rise in passenger numbers, cargo transportation by air witnessed a decline of 4.5%, totaling 97.9 thousand tons during the same reporting period.
