Albanian Delegation Explores Azerbaijan’s Manuscript Heritage

Baku: An Albanian delegation led by Academician Sk«nder Gjinushi, President of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, paid a visit to the Mahammad Fuzuli Institute of Manuscripts of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) during their stay in Azerbaijan. Teymur Karimli, Director of the Institute, introduced the delegation to the institute's extensive activities, highlighting its rich manuscript collection, rare historical documents, and ongoing scientific research.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Karimli emphasized the institute's mission to preserve, study, and share the Azerbaijani people's scientific, literary, and cultural heritage with the global scientific community. He noted the institute's role as a leading scientific center in safeguarding the written heritage of both Azerbaijan and the broader Eastern civilization. Karimli expressed a desire to strengthen relations with European academic institutions to explore common cultural and scientific values.

Sk«nder Gjinushi acknowledged the significance of the Institute's preserved heritage, recognizing it as a crucial component of humanity's cultural memory. He commended Azerbaijani scholars for their dedication to preserving this heritage and emphasized the importance of passing it on to future generations, highlighting its role in enhancing historical and cultural connections.

During the visit, discussions were held on potential scientific cooperation, joint research projects, and expanding ties in the humanities field. The delegation toured the institute's exhibition halls, laboratories for manuscript conservation and restoration, and storage facilities, where they viewed rare manuscripts, ancient books, and historical documents.
