Baku:Khudavang Representatives of the Albanian-Udi Christian community in Azerbaijan recently visited the Khudavang Monastery Complex in the Kalbajar district.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the members of the community engaged in religious activities, including lighting candles and offering prayers, while also commemorating martyrs on the monastery grounds.
Community representative Rafig Rami highlighted that since 2020, the group has made annual visits to religious sites in the liberated territories, including not only Khudavang but also other monasteries, churches, and the Aghdam Juma Mosque. During this visit, religious rites were conducted in the Udi language, a historic language of the Caucasian Albanian heritage.
Romen Callati, another community member, echoed the significance of these visits, stating that they serve to honor the martyrs and preserve the cultural heritage of Caucasian Albania, which he emphasized is a shared legacy of Azerbaijan.
