Baku: State Agency for Science and Higher Education has addressed claims circulating on social media that suggest artificial obstacles are being imposed on students wishing to transfer from foreign institutions to universities in Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Agency clarified that the current regulations require a student to earn at least half of the credits specified for their program during their studies. This means that a student must complete at least 50% of the courses deemed standard under the program.
The agency further explained that while some students prolong their studies by taking a minimal number of courses, this practice does not align with the educational norms. The existing educational standard mandates a normative study period of four years, with 60 credits required each academic year and 30 credits each semester. This is in accordance with Resolution No. 348 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
