Beijing: A delegation from the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), led by Chairman Vugar Suleymanov, conducted a series of meetings with Chinese companies specializing in mine clearance equipment during their visit to the People's Republic of China. The initiative is part of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, focusing on enhancing cooperation in humanitarian demining.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meetings included a significant session at Nuctech, a leading company in security and inspection technologies. ANAMA presented the challenges Azerbaijan faces with landmines, detailing the agency's ongoing activities and methodologies. The visit follows a Joint Statement and a Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Cooperation in Humanitarian Demining, signed between Azerbaijan and China.
Lu Xinping, Nuctech's Deputy Director for Asia and the CIS countries, shared insights into the company's activities and technological capabilities. Discussions were held on testing the X-ray devices used for detecting explosive ordnance and enhancing their technical specifications. Both parties evaluated the compatibility of Nuctech's equipment with ANAMA's operations and explored potential applications in demining efforts.
The delegation observed demonstrations of Nuctech's X-ray systems and other advanced technological equipment. In another meeting at Beijing Heweiyongtai Sci and Tech, ANAMA was briefed on the company's specialized technical equipment and innovative solutions. Discussions focused on technologies applicable to humanitarian demining and future cooperation opportunities.
