Baku: The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) successfully neutralized a significant number of mines and unexploded ordnances (UXOs) in various districts throughout 2025. The comprehensive mine-clearance operations took place in Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, ANAMA detected and neutralized 4,963 anti-personnel mines, 1,861 anti-tank mines, and 52,392 UXOs during the operations. These efforts led to the clearance of a total of 69,205.7 hectares of land, significantly improving safety and accessibility in these areas.
The operations underline ANAMA's ongoing commitment to enhancing security and supporting development in mine-affected regions. The removal of these hazards is crucial for restoring normalcy and fostering economic activities in the cleared territories.
