ANAS and Northern University of Pakistan Forge Academic Partnership

Baku:Isa Habibbayli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), met with Taha Jamil Sawar, a member of the Board of Governors of Pakistan's Northern University, to discuss collaborative efforts between the two institutions.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, The discussions highlighted the role of the Pakistan Literature Center at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature, which collects publications in Azerbaijani, Urdu, and English, serving as a valuable resource for researchers. Habibbayli emphasized ongoing joint conferences, projects, and publications between Azerbaijani scientists and Pakistan's academic institutions, including translations of works by Allama Muhammad Iqbal into Azerbaijani.

Taha Jamil Sawar expressed interest in fostering studies of Azerbaijani language and literature at Northern University and proposed establishing an Azerbaijan center there. This initiative aims to collect Azerbaijani books and publications, thus enhancing cultural ties and promoting Azerbaijani knowledge among Pakistani students and researchers.

The meeting also covered potential cooperation in artificial intelligence, with Sawar detailing AI research at Northern University. Habibbayli noted the importance of knowledge sharing, referencing the operations of ANAS's Center for Digital Academy, Electronic Services, and Artificial Intelligence.

The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, formalizing the cooperation between ANAS and Northern University of Pakistan.
