AR announced arrival time of 10 new “Stadler” trains in Azerbaijan

Today, on the eve of the new 2023-2024 academic year, "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC announced the appointment of 8 new flights on the Baku-Sumgayit-Baku ring railway. At the same time, the timing of the arrival of 10 new trains purchased in Switzerland to Azerbaijan was announced. According to the press service of the AR, new railway trains will arrive in Baku "by the end of this, the beginning of next year." Some of these trains will be assigned to the Absheron Ring Railway line, which will contribute to improving the quality of passenger transportation, the message says. Note that "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC has been cooperating with the Swiss company "Stadler Rail Group" since 2015. The state-owned company acquired 9 electric trains from "Stadler' with 4 cars each. In 2019, "Stadler" announced the signing of a contract with AR for the supply of 10 "FLIRT" trains for 115 million euros, which also includes the supply of spare parts and warehouse equipment. It was expected that the first AR trains will be received in 2022. However, the process was somewhat delayed.
