Armenia’s Military Budget Increase Poses Threat, Azerbaijani FM Claims

BAKU — At a recent joint press conference with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted a significant increase in Armenia's military budget, which he views as a major obstacle to regional peace and stability.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Armenia has raised its military spending by approximately 50%, a move he asserts complicates the peace process. "The wrong policy carried out by Armenia in this field and the inciting support of some countries to Armenia remain a danger in the region," stated Bayramov. He urged Armenia to reassess its approach if it is truly committed to peace, indicating that Azerbaijan expects significant policy shifts from Armenia to foster a conducive environment for peace.
