MOSCOW — The trilateral commission aimed at restoring transport links in the South Caucasus, which included Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, no longer convenes, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Lavrov commented on the ongoing direct negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, suggesting that if these are conducted without Russian involvement, they should proceed independently. He expressed that despite existing challenges and differences, there is mutual understanding and a willingness to negotiate among the involved parties, indicating some progress in these discussions.
