Athletics Competitions Among Azerbaijani Servicemen Held to Boost Physical Fitness


BAKU: Athletics competitions were recently held among servicemen in Azerbaijan as part of the Land Forces’ training plan for 2024, aiming to enhance physical fitness and camaraderie among military personnel.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Ministry of Defense reported that six teams, comprising 59 servicemen from various army corps, formations, and independent units, participated in the competitions. These events were organized following international rules, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining high standards in physical training.

The competitions included various distance running events, pull-ups on the crossbar, lifting a flip on the crossbar, and relay races. These activities were overseen by officers from the physical training and sports unit of the Land Forces, ensuring fair play and adherence to the regulations.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that these competitions are part of broader efforts to improve the physical fitness of servicemen. At the conclusion of the events, the
winners were honored with cups and medals, recognizing their athletic achievements and dedication.
