Average Monthly Salary in Azerbaijan Rises by Over 5%

Baku: In January-February 2026, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in Azerbaijan increased by 5.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,099.1 manats, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, as of March 1 this year, the number of salaried employees in the country amounted to 1.784 million people. Of these, 870.6 thousand were employed in the public sector, while 913.4 thousand worked in the private sector.

Of the salaried employees, a significant portion worked in various sectors with 18.5% in trade and repair of vehicles, 18.3% in education, and 13.8% in industry. Additionally, 8.6% were employed in healthcare and social services, 6.5% in construction, and 6.1% in public administration and defense; social security. Other sectors included transport and storage at 4.4%, professional, scientific and technical activities at 4%, financial and insurance activities at 2.4%, agriculture, forestry and fishing at 2.3%, and 15.1% in other sectors of the economy.
