Baku: In January-October 2025, the average monthly nominal salary of salaried employees in Azerbaijan increased by 9.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1,086.3 manats.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the State Statistical Committee noted that the average monthly nominal salary was notably higher in industries such as mining, financial and insurance activities, information and communication, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as in the transportation and storage sectors.
As of November 1, 2025, the employment landscape in Azerbaijan showed that the number of salaried employees in the country’s economy amounted to 1,782.4 thousand people. Of these, 865.7 thousand were employed in the public sector, while 916.7 thousand worked within the non-public sector.
The distribution of salaried employees across various sectors was also highlighted. Of all salaried employees, 18.8% were engaged in trade and vehicle repair, 18.1% in education, and 14.0% in industry. Meanwhile, 8.6% worked in healthcare and social services, 6.7% in construction, and 6.3% in public administration and defense sectors. Additionally, 4.5% were involved in transportation and storage, 4.0% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, and 2.3% in financial and insurance activities. The remaining 14.3% were employed in other sectors of the economy.
