Hamburg: The delivery ceremony of the first Airbus A321neo aircraft intended for Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) was held today in Hamburg, Germany, APA's correspondent dispatched to Hamburg reports. The ceremony was organized at Airbus' production complex and marked a significant milestone for AZAL.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event commenced with the welcoming of participants, followed by the official aircraft delivery ceremony. Distinguished speakers at the event included Airbus Executive Vice President for the A320 Family Programme Christoph Zammert, Airbus Vice President Sales for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Charbel Youzkatli, AerCap Senior Vice President and Head of EMEA John Gowan, Airbus Program General Manager Bruno Castola, and AZAL Chief Commercial Officer Jamil Manizade.
A presentation video titled 'A321neo In-the-Making' was showcased to the attendees, highlighting the advanced features of the aircraft. The ceremony also featured an exchange of commemorative gifts between the involved parties, symbolizing the collaboration and mutual achievements.
Participants had the opportunity to take commemorative photographs in front of the newly delivered aircraft and were given a tour of the A321neo's cabin, which boasts enhanced passenger comfort. The aircraft, delivered under a lease agreement from AerCap, is noted for its lower fuel consumption and minimized environmental impact, aligning with modern aviation's sustainability goals.
