AZAL Initiates Carbon Offset Program for Eco-Conscious Flyers

BAKU — Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), the national air carrier of Azerbaijan, has launched a new carbon offset program aimed at reducing the environmental impact of air travel. This voluntary initiative allows passengers to compensate for the carbon emissions associated with their flights by contributing to certified environmental projects.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, AZAL has partnered with Carbon Click, a leading provider of carbon offset solutions, to facilitate this program. Passengers now have the option to offset the carbon emissions of their flights during the ticket purchasing process or after booking, through a dedicated platform on the AZAL website. The platform, accessible at https://azerbaijanairlines.carbon.click/, provides a user-friendly interface for calculating the carbon footprint of flights and participating in the offset program.

As global awareness of climate change grows, the aviation industry is increasingly focused on sustainable practices. AZAL’s program supports projects that are certified by reputable organizations such as Gold Standard and VCS. These projects emphasize reducing carbon emissions through renewable energy advancements and other environmentally friendly initiatives.

AZAL is committed to expanding its range of environmental efforts, continually working towards reducing the CO2 emissions of its flights and promoting sustainable travel among its passengers.
