BAKU: Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to allegations made by Jean-Noël Barrot, the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, stating that Azerbaijan's actions towards Armenia violate international law. The Azerbaijani government has dismissed these claims as baseless and indicative of France's biased approach. According to Trend News Agency, Aykhan Hajizada, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, addressed the claims during a statement. Hajizada countered the French minister's allegations by asserting that Azerbaijan bases all its actions on international law and justice. He criticized France for its lack of evidence and its hypocritical stance on international legal standards, particularly pointing out France's failure to acknowledge Armenia's alleged violations against Azerbaijan. "It is absurd to claim that our country is acting against international law, and France has no evidence to support her claim. It is interesting that France, which presents itself as a promoter of international law and a guarantee of justice, has never criticized the gross violation of all norms and principles of international law in relation to Azerbaijan," Hajizada stated. He further highlighted the historical conflicts between Azerbaijan and Armenia, accusing Armenia of displacing nearly a million Azerbaijanis and committing crimes against humanity. Hajizada called on France to stop its "destructive activities" in the region and to reconsider its foreign policy, which he described as failing in many parts of the world.
