Baku: The prospects for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to engage with Azerbaijan’s financial sector have been assessed, as announced by Taleh Kazimov, Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA). Kazimov shared this development on his X page, following a significant meeting with a delegation led by ADB Executive Director Rachel Thompson at the CBA.
According to Trend News Agency, the meeting provided a platform for a comprehensive exchange of views on multiple critical topics. These included the challenges currently facing the global economy, Azerbaijan’s economic situation and its development trends, and the country’s monetary policy. Additionally, discussions were held on improving the supervisory and regulatory framework within the insurance sector and exploring the sector’s potential.
Chairman Kazimov noted that the meeting was instrumental in discussing future cooperation possibilities between the Central Bank and ADB. The discussions aimed to explore how ADB might participate in enhancing the country’s financial sector, marking a step forward in potential collaborative efforts.
